Baby swimming

Baby swimming for new families
Baby swimming is great for newborns, helping them develop their motor skills early and improve their balance. Baby swimming is especially ideal, as it can reduce the risk of fear of water later in life.
Baby swimming is a sport that is incredibly healthy for your baby, so when your baby is around 2–3 months old and weighs about 4–5 kg, you’re welcome to start baby swimming with your baby.
If your baby was born prematurely, you can only start 8 weeks after the original due date.
In addition, the umbilical cord must have fallen off and healed before you can start, as otherwise it can cause infections.
For the new mum, she should generally have had her 8-week check-up or be healed before getting in the water with the little one.

Baby swimming strengthens the child’s senses
At baby swimming at Arrild Swimming Pool, your child becomes comfortable in the water and develops their motor skills and movement patterns.
The instructor teaches, guides and supports the parents, so the child has a pleasant and safe experience in the water.
A lesson lasts 30 minutes.
Babies in nappies must always wear both a swim nappy and a tight-fitting nappy cover over it.
Swim nappies and nappy covers can be purchased at reception.
We look forward to seeing you!
